New items in the shop!!

I'm really bad about updating my etsy or keeping it stocked.  Right now I have 12 items listed which is a big deal, guys! Go check them out and buy everything :)

The latest additions are these great felt feather and button hair clips.  I just love them.  The newest one below has some fabric incorporated in the large feather.  There is so much versatility in such a small object and I've been having fun with that.  If you want one but don't see a color combo you like just let me know, I'm all about custom orders.

purple & silver & polka dots

all five together like a happy little feathery family

bows bows bows

I've discovered a great new hair accessory that I love to knit...bows! You might remember I made a cute little purple one for Whitney back in September for her 22nd birthday. She has big amazing curly hair and bows look perfect on her head. I noticed she wore that purple one a lot so I decided a box of more colorful bowiness was a must for Christmas. Her gift was actually the first of my Christmas knitting I finished.

I tried to incorporate every color of the rainbow in her box-o-bows and I think I succeeded. She loved them and I get a thrill every time I see her wearing one. They're the perfect accessory too because her work uniform is all black but she can wear whatever she wants in her hair. Now she can show off some of her funky style at work :)

I posted the pics of her bows on etsy and got a custom order within the first day. While in New Orleans last week I knit the 4 new bows for the custom order, she just got them today and loved them. yay!

They are still posted on my etsy and I'll accept orders on here or facebook as well if anyone wants any! I love knitting these and there is no end to the color combo possibilities!

i'm almost over it...i think

Being in this sick funk has really stunted my crafting lately. I have several things that need to get sewn and I haven't even taken my sewing machine out of it's case for three weeks!

to sew:
- drawstring backpack for my little cousin Kenneth
- remaining portion of Em & Han's Christmas gifts
- stuffies for Miriah's friends
- nap mat for custom order

The nap mat is actually cut out and on the table and is my number one priority. If I can finish that up tomorrow that would be lovely. The christmas gifts will be fast too, they're also cut out. Ha, the little backpack is cutout too! Ok so I'm better than I thought, just need to put all the cut out pieces together with some thread.

Since I've been home fron New Orleans I've been spending a lot of time on the couch in my parent's sunroom. I usually pull the piano bench up to the couch and use it as a table for al the stuff I accuulate while just sitting.

As you can see, I've been knitting my red beret that I'm very excited about wearing soon. That foot in the background is David lying on the floor playing some xBox. Some of the other pics I took of him playing looked rather creepy on the tv. It's a game about zombies and abandoned buildings after a nuclear fallout...appropriately named Fallout, ha. I've also been reading blogs like crazy. I get in these moods where I'd rather read about everyone else than post about myself. The one you see on the screen is a wedding blog I've gotten hooked on (shhh, don't tell!)

Another random thing I tend to do when I'm stuck at home for long periods of time is cut my hair. Sometimes this is good and other times...not so much. Luckily, my hair ended up pretty good this time. I thought I had fixed my hair last time I gave it a trim but I was still having problems. This time I spent more time on it (and not at 3am!) and it turned out much better.

(not the greatest pic, i know)

Does anyone else out there cut their own hair? I've been doing it myself for nearly 4 years now and I love it. I couldn't afford to pay someone else to do it anyway.

Hope to have some finished products to post about soon :)

if only it'd snow..

the holidays are finally here, and the proof is in my cereal bowl! This is easily my favorite time of year. The lights, decorations, family, giving gifts to everyone I love, and most of all, remembering everything the Lord has done for us. People seem to be nicer around this time of year too (unless you're out shopping in which case they're just plain crazy!)

I have a long list of gifts to make for Christmas. I checked one off my list last night! Well, I can check it off as soon as I add buttons.

Since my last post I've done lots of sewing, knitting, and cutting. That includes cutting my hair! Oddly enough I'm trying to grow my hair out again, but it took me a while to finally get it all even. I also tend to cut it when I get bored or antsy. Here's hoping I can keep the scissors away from my locks.

I made another little bear the other day. I just love them. I want to surround my room with them in every color imaginable.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! December is almost here :D
