I finally finished something AND took a picture...

...well I kinda took a photo. yay, photobooth!

So I've been sick all week.
Sunday - ear felt weird
Monday - went to dr and had ear infection, got meds
Tuesday - still felt crappy but made it through work
Wednesday - felt worse, stayed home, went to Dr, sinus infection and got stronger meds
Today - stayed home, basically had a sinus migraine all day...major suckage!

I'm on so much medicine right now. Strong antibiotics (the stuff they give you if you come in contact with ANTHRAX!!), zyrtec, sudafed, excedrin, mucinex, and I will taking benadryl in a bit to sleep. Don't worry, It's been a while since I took all that other junk so I won't die tonight of an overdose :) But seriously...if anthrax killing antibiotics won't cure me what will?


So yesterday and today I knit a few rows here and there and finished my little scarf/shawlette. It's the 22.5 degree pattern and I think I love it. I used a thicker yarn than called for and size 10.5 needles. It's plush, soft, and full of merino wool goodness.

Now I'm going to watch some Craig Ferguson and hope to sleep. Night all!

i'm almost over it...i think

Being in this sick funk has really stunted my crafting lately. I have several things that need to get sewn and I haven't even taken my sewing machine out of it's case for three weeks!

to sew:
- drawstring backpack for my little cousin Kenneth
- remaining portion of Em & Han's Christmas gifts
- stuffies for Miriah's friends
- nap mat for custom order

The nap mat is actually cut out and on the table and is my number one priority. If I can finish that up tomorrow that would be lovely. The christmas gifts will be fast too, they're also cut out. Ha, the little backpack is cutout too! Ok so I'm better than I thought, just need to put all the cut out pieces together with some thread.

Since I've been home fron New Orleans I've been spending a lot of time on the couch in my parent's sunroom. I usually pull the piano bench up to the couch and use it as a table for al the stuff I accuulate while just sitting.


As you can see, I've been knitting my red beret that I'm very excited about wearing soon. That foot in the background is David lying on the floor playing some xBox. Some of the other pics I took of him playing looked rather creepy on the tv. It's a game about zombies and abandoned buildings after a nuclear fallout...appropriately named Fallout, ha. I've also been reading blogs like crazy. I get in these moods where I'd rather read about everyone else than post about myself. The one you see on the screen is a wedding blog I've gotten hooked on (shhh, don't tell!)

Another random thing I tend to do when I'm stuck at home for long periods of time is cut my hair. Sometimes this is good and other times...not so much. Luckily, my hair ended up pretty good this time. I thought I had fixed my hair last time I gave it a trim but I was still having problems. This time I spent more time on it (and not at 3am!) and it turned out much better.

Does anyone else out there cut their own hair? I've been doing it myself for nearly 4 years now and I love it. I couldn't afford to pay someone else to do it anyway.

random updates

bronchitis
i've had asthma forever and one of the lovely side effects is bronchitis. i get it every few years and it knocks me down. i currently have no voice at all (i help lead worship twice a week...hmm) or lung capacity. some of it has settled in my lungs which i hope clears up soon. basically i didn't go to much school this week and i'm behind in my assignments.

craftiness
being stuck at home has given me lots of time for craftiness.
- knitting project zipper pouch
- knit slippers
- another knit scrubby
- plans for some wall art brewing in my head

hoping to get pictures of all these up soon.

school
i looked at my course requirements the other day and it looks like i only need 27 hours to graduate after this semester! should be a breeze graduating december 2009. i'll try not to get ahead of myself on post-graduation plans :)
