comfort & home

I'm back and it hasn't been a month...shocker! I have some pics to share :) First here are some detail shots of our home that I love.

Homemade monsters and bear on the mantel

letters in the kitchen from our fave Aussies!

shelves of doodads in the dining room

wedding pompoms hanging in the bathroom

bedside lamps in our room

The rest of this post is about some rice bags I made. I'm not sure what to really call them actually. They're bags of rice you put in the freezer or microwave and use to feel better. I decided to make 2 sets, one cold and one hot.

I found this awesome plaid/owl flannel at JoAnns and added some solid Kona cottons for the backs.

I also sewed in some ribbon on the long bags to help keep them in place if they need to be worn around the shoulders or on the head.

I made some of these for mother's day a few years back and finally got around to making a set for our home. David gets sinus tension in his neck so the long one really helps relieve tension.

Now off to knit and watch The Emperor's New Groove!

monsters!

Here are 2 of my latest finished projects! I actually finished one nearly a year ago and nearly finished the 2nd...then just didn't, ha. I got the entire 2nd one knit and then just never sewed it all together. In that year I moved, got engaged, planned a wedding, got married, quit my job and FINALLY finished her.

What was meant to be a present for a newborn baby and her big sister ended up being a 1st birthday present.

little Blake and her monster :)

I just love giving these monsters as gifts. I think they're perfect because you can make them any color or pattern to match the recipient's personality and style. What I liked most about this gift was they were for sisters. Yay for Blake turning 1 and yay for Dylan being an awesome big sister for a year :)

I have more to post soon!

April 30, 2011

I know I've said it before...

..but I really do plan to post a real post soon! I have some small projects I've been working on that I need to talk about. Today the hubs is dealing with my car that broke down and there are things that need to be done around the homestead. I will be back soon though!

Chuy says hi :)

flowers

This is my workspace that was formerly knows as my dining room table. Whitney and I spent most of the day making flowers for the wedding. I intend on spending most of my tomorrow doing the same. I just finished making what is currently the smallest and my favorite flower. It's a light aqua with one my MeMaw's old buttons in the center. The pictures below don't do the colors justice, lame iPhone camera. I'd take real pictures but I have absolutely no idea where my camera cord is :)

Oh did I mention that I quit my job 2 weeks ago? Since then I've had more time to make my wedding what David and I want it to be. I've also been less stressed and just really enjoying the time off. I'm very excited to see what God has coming my way...especially the new husband I will be getting in 9 DAYS!!!

our wedding...

Our wedding is in a little more than 22 days. Tonight realized I haven't had the time to do many of the small things I wanted so much to do. I've committed to focus on those details David and I care about more. I'm excited about pom poms, flowers, my hair pin, and lots and lots of polks dots!!

Our envelopes come in tomorrow so we can finally send out our invites...woo :)

25 days..

oooooh goodness! only 3.5 weeks to go until the big day!

We just had our 5 year dating anniversary and I'm so excited to start celebrating our wedding anniversaries :)

I stayed home sick today with asthma and jaw complications which has been awful, but it has given me a chance to make a few flowers for the wedding. Today's were tulle filler flowers that I'm very excited about. There's even silver glitter tulle...awesome!

We also got our invites but our envelopes are stuck somewhere in America due to crazy weather. So, if you've been wondering if you're invited or where your invite is...it's coming!

When David gets off work we order the ties! yay weddings :)

Pom poms

I just finished making 50 yarn pom-pom flowers for the wedding! They will be used to decorate the reception. Right now they're all on my mantle and I love them!!

I plan to add a picture very soon, I'm unable from this app on my phone.

Night night :)

Some goals

So latter the wedding David and I have a few things we want to get serious about and accomplish.

First we need to work on our music more and hope to record some songs together here at home. We're asked quite often where a recording is and there honestly aren't any good quality ones.

Second, I intend to get back into blogging more again like I was before I graduated last year. I enjoyed sharing my crafting ventures and posting pictures giving a glimpse of the life I love so much.

And finally for me...more of those crafting ventures! I want to get serious about crafting, knitting, sewing and growing randamocity. It's what I truly enjoy doing and I'm so passionate about it.

I need your help though. I know I need to have some more focus in my products to start off with. If you could tell me what things I've made you like most or think others would want that would be amazing.

Any feedback is appreciated :)

Ok bed time, have work in the morning.

Ps. Typed on my iPhone so please excuse any weird typos
Pps. I'm getting married in 36 days!!!!!

getting our home ready!

this is our awesome new dining set that should come in next week sometime! I love the retro feel. It will go great with the red and aqua 50s look we're going for in the kitchen.

I'm hoping to get some pics of the apartment up as I get stuff moved in.

until next time...

ps. 52 days till the wedding :D
